Why Delta IV Heavy as the launch vehicle? Is it because of payload weight? <span>No, PSP is relatively light at 685Kg, D IVH was used because it can give a higher departure velocity than anything else available when the mission was approved in 09 (way too early for F9H). Getting as close to the sun as it will be requires it to become the fastest man-made object ever launched. A lesser rocket would've required far more gravity assists to reach the final orbit if it was possible at all.</span>

<span>Только Delta IV Heavy могла отправить Solar Parker Probe к Cолнцу. Для преодоления огромной центробежной силы нужна большая скорость (delta V) . Даже Delta IV Heavy не смогла её полностью обеспечить. Потребовались гравитационные манёвры вокруг Венеры. Для дальнего космоса лучше Delta IV Heavy пока нет.</span>
